Comapedrosa Interpretation Centre (CIC)

The Comapedrosa Interpretation Centre (CIC) is a 182-m2 multipurpose building in Arinsal that was opened on 23 August 2015 to inform the public about the wealth of the natural park.

To reach the CIC by vehicle:

Follow the main road to the centre of Arinsal.

Very near the centre, you will find a free car park.

Public transport

To get here by public transport, you can take line 5, towards Arinsal and get off at the last stop, Arinsal car park, which will leave you at the foot of the park.

Opening times of the CIC

From 16 May to 30 September, Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 8:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00.
Sundays, from 9:00 to 13:00. Closed on Mondays.

From 1 October to 15 May, Mondays to Fridays, from 8:00 to 16:00.

Resources available at the centre

Permanent exhibition

Permanent exhibition with interpretative panels that explain the habitats, the biological diversity, the geological and cultural particularities of the protected area.

Temporary exhibitions

At present, you can see the “La vida salvatge al Comapedrosa: el més extrem d’un país” exhibition.

Audiovisual projection area

Audiovisual projection area where you can see the documentary Comapedrosa: secrets d’un parc natural.

Virtual reality

3D virtual reality glasses for the so-called Comapedrosa 360°, which allows you to climb up to the ceiling of Andorra without moving from the centre.

Comapedrosa Educational Itinerary

Self-guided educational itinerary with easy access that includes diverse elements of interpretive signposting. The route connects with a picnic area and allows you to see spectacular waterfalls.


Cross-border interpretive circuit between the Comapedrosa Natural Park and the Alt Pirineu Natural Park

Joint initiative of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park (Catalonia) and the Comapedrosa Natural Park. It passes through the GR-11 and has a length of 10.7 km. Connect the Molinassa car park, and very close to the Vallferrera sheltered refuge with the shelter of the Comapedrosa. The signposting of this itinerary has the presence of 20 pivots of recycled plastic.

Geolocation

An activity that consists of looking for hidden treasures with the help of a satnav. There are various circuits:
Interpretation Circuit Geolocation: this is the recommended circuit for families

Bassa de l’Estany Negre Geolocation
A more technical itinerary for a high mountain audience where you can do this activity with the glacier ponds as a driving force. The activity is located in the highest areas of the natural park.
