Hiking is the best way to get to know the park, as it has a large number of paths that will enable you to get the most emblematic places.

The natural park has ten main itineraries that will allow you to discover its heritage and enjoy it.

The Pla de l’Estany Path

This itinerary climbs, mainly heading north-west, from the mobile barrier near the Arinsal dike to Les Agunes and La Coruvilla huts (bordes).

The Comapedrosa Refuge Path

This route, one of the most visited ones in the Principality, starts at the Pla de l’Estany track and goes as far as the manned Comapedrosa Refuge.

The Alt de Comapedrosa Peak Path

This path leads to the Alt de Comapedrosa Refuge path. From the departure point, just a few metres under the refuge, the path heads west, along the Pleta de Comapedrosa.

The Pic de Sanfons Path

The path to the Portella de Sanfons starts at the Comapedrosa Refuge. It climbs up to the Portella de Sanfons, going through Pla de la Bassa de les Granotes and La Costa de la Font dels Miquelets.

The Percanela-Les Fonts Path

The Percanela-Les Fonts path starts on the Arinsal Road, just before crossing the Dic d’Arinsal tunnel. It follows Els Ribassols Torrent until reaching the Percanela stone huts (bordes).

The Montmantell Path

This itinerary starts close to the Pla de l’Estany Refuge. It climbs parallel to the River Montmantell to the area around the spring of the same name.

The Forcats Path

The Forcats path starts at the crossroads with the Montmantell path, near the Pla de l’Esany Refuge. It climbs along the Costa del Congost, crossing the Rivers Port Dret and Bancal Vedeller.

The Clot del Cavall Path

The departure point of the Clot del Cavall path is at the Prats Nous stone huts (bordes). It goes through the Roc Gros forest to the Clot del Cavall, between the peak of the same name and Pic de Percanela.

The Coll de les Cases Path

This itinerary starts at Mas de Ribafeta and finishes up at the Coll de les Cases, after climbing the shady slope of the Mas.

Important

Precautions to be taken before going to the mountain

Remember that before any outing to the mountain, you should make sure to plan it correctly.

Find out about the weather forecast

Choose the area carefully, in keeping with your physical condition and the knowledge you have of the mountain

Find out about the location of the refuges where you can take shelter in case of a sudden drop in temperature, storms or other adverse weather conditions

Take a mobile phone with you

Pay attention to the indications on the posters and other signposts about the risks in the mountain and respect them

Bear in mind that sudden changes in the weather can be frequent on the mountain

Take warm clothes, waterproofs, mountain boots, a hat and glasses

Make sure to take food and, above all, water

Take sunscreen and lip salve

Your worst enemies are lack of training, lack of food at suitable time, tiredness, excess heat, cold and damp. Tell where you are going and when you will return

In springtime and winter, pay attention to the risk of avalanches, as most of the park is at risk
